Short answer: To hire a remote digital marketer from Bangladesh, agree on four things before work starts: a fixed overlap window for calls, user access to accounts you own, a clear payment method and schedule, and a short written contract covering scope, reporting and notice. Bangladesh runs on UTC plus 6 with no daylight saving, which gives good same-day overlap with the UK and Australia and a usable morning window for the US and Canada.
Bangladesh is one of the biggest sources of online talent in the world. The Daily Star, citing an Oxford Internet Institute study, reports that the country supplies 16 percent of online workers worldwide, second only to India. This guide covers the practical side of hiring a marketer here if your business is in the US, UK, Canada or Australia.
Hire a remote digital marketer from Bangladesh: time zones
Bangladesh Standard Time is UTC plus 6 all year. Because Bangladesh does not change its clocks, the gap to your city shifts when you switch between summer and winter time. Here is the arithmetic:
| Your location | Dhaka is ahead by | A practical overlap window |
|---|---|---|
| London | 5 hours in summer, 6 in winter | Your morning to early afternoon |
| New York and Toronto | 10 hours in summer, 11 in winter | Your early morning (Dhaka evening) |
| Los Angeles and Vancouver | 13 hours in summer, 14 in winter | Your late afternoon or early morning |
| Sydney and Melbourne | Sydney is ahead: 4 hours in its winter, 5 in its summer | Your afternoon (Dhaka morning) |
What I recommend:
- Agree on one fixed weekly call slot and one daily window when quick questions get quick answers.
- Use the time gap as an advantage. Changes requested at the end of your day can be done before you wake up.
- Agree on what counts as urgent, such as ads disapproved during a sale or a broken checkout, and how to reach the marketer when it happens.
- Confirm working days and local public holidays on both sides when you plan launches and sale periods.
Communication that works across countries
Most remote work problems are communication problems. Settle these in week one:
- One channel for messages. Slack, email or WhatsApp. Pick one so nothing gets lost.
- A weekly written update. What happened, what changed, what is next and what is needed from you.
- A monthly review call. Results against goals, tests completed and the plan for next month.
- A shared change log. A simple sheet that lists every important change in the accounts with a date and reason.
Judge written English early. Ask for a summary of your first call. If it is clear, specific and accurate, the weekly updates will be too.
Account access: keep ownership, share access
This is the most important rule when you hire a remote digital marketer from Bangladesh or anywhere else. Your business owns every account. The marketer gets user access that you can remove at any time.
- Google Ads: add the marketer under Access and security. Google’s access levels include Admin, Standard, Read only, Email only and Billing. Standard lets them edit campaigns without managing users. Keep Admin for yourself.
- Meta: keep the ad account, page, pixel and catalogue inside your own business portfolio. Add the marketer as a person or as a partner, with access only to the assets they need.
- GA4 and Google Tag Manager: give editor access on your property and container.
- Website and Shopify: create a staff account with limited permissions rather than sharing the owner login.
- Billing: your card or invoice profile pays the platforms directly. Ad spend should never pass through the marketer.
- Two-step verification: require it on every account that has access.
If you need to fix tracking before campaigns can work, ask the marketer to start there. My GA4 and Google Tag Manager service page explains what a clean setup includes.
Payment: method, currency and paperwork
Agree on payment before any work starts, in writing:
- Method: an international bank transfer or a payment platform both sides already use. Ask the marketer which method works best for them, since some are cheaper to receive than others.
- Currency: most international contracts are priced in US dollars, pounds or Australian dollars. Agree who pays transfer fees.
- Schedule: monthly in advance or in arrears, with a clear due date.
- Invoices: ask for a proper invoice every month with the marketer’s name, address, service period and amount.
- Tax paperwork: US businesses paying a foreign contractor usually collect Form W-8BEN. As Gusto explains, the contractor fills it in to confirm they are a foreign person, and you keep it on file rather than sending it to the IRS. UK, Canadian and Australian businesses should check local rules with their accountant.
What to put in the contract
A short, clear agreement protects both sides. It does not need to be long. Cover these points:
- Scope: which channels and tasks are included, and which are not. For example, Google Ads and Meta Ads management and tracking, but not design or web development.
- Deliverables and reporting: weekly update, monthly report and review call.
- Fees: amount, currency, schedule and what happens if ad spend grows a lot.
- Ownership: accounts, data, audiences and creatives made for you belong to your business.
- Confidentiality and data: how customer data is handled, especially if you upload customer lists or CRM data. UK and EU brands should include data protection terms.
- Notice period: 30 days is common and fair at the start.
- Handover: on exit, access is removed and documentation of campaigns and tracking is handed over.
Your first 30 days together
- Week 1: access granted, kickoff call, business goals, margins and target cost per sale or lead agreed.
- Week 2: audit of accounts and tracking, with a written list of issues and priorities.
- Week 3: tracking fixes and the first structural changes.
- Week 4: first tests running and a first monthly review with clear next steps.
